Manual J, S and D Calculations
ACCA Manual J loads, Manual S equipment selection and Manual D duct design for residential permits.
Manual J is the ACCA method for calculating a home’s heating and cooling loads room by room. Manual S selects equipment to those loads and Manual D sizes the ducts. Building departments ask for the reports with residential permits, and correctly sized equipment runs quieter, dehumidifies better and costs less. We deliver the reports in three to five business days.

Frequently asked questions
Does my jurisdiction require Manual J?
Most residential energy codes require equipment to be sized by ACCA Manual J and S, and many building departments ask for the report with the permit. We confirm the requirement for your jurisdiction when we quote.
Can you size the equipment for a heat pump conversion?
Yes. We run the loads for the existing house, select a heat pump to Manual S, and check the existing ducts against Manual D or design new ones.
Have a project in design or permitting?
Send us the drawings you have, even if they are early. We reply within one business day with scope, fee and schedule.
