MEP Engineering for Retail and Franchise Stores

Rooftop HVAC, lighting and display power, plumbing and refrigeration coordination for convenience, grocery, salon, pet and specialty retail.

Retail work is about speed and repeatability without losing the details that trip up inspections: the energy-code lighting controls, the refrigeration loads on the electrical service, the exhaust for a salon or grooming room, and the restrooms the occupancy requires. We have designed convenience stores, grocery, optometry, pet retail and salons, many of them as multi-location franchise programs.

Recent retail work

7-Eleven, Bolla Market with Tim Hortons, Wolfgang Pet Shop, Moxie Salon and Beauty Bar, Livingston Optometry and the Village Market grocery renovation are listed in our projects. Each one carried a different equipment package, and each permit set was built from the same process.

Frequently asked questions

Do you work from the brand's prototype drawings?

Yes. For franchise stores we adapt the prototype to the site, the local code edition and the landlord's base building, and keep a change log so the franchisor and contractor can see what moved.

Can you renovate a store that stays open?

Yes. The Village Market grocery renovation in Floral Park was designed to keep the store fully operational, with HVAC, electrical and plumbing work phased around the sales floor and refrigeration.

Have a project in design or permitting?

Send us the drawings you have, even if they are early. We reply within one business day with scope, fee and schedule.
