Standby Generator Sizing and Design
Load analysis, generator and transfer switch selection, fuel and exhaust coordination and permit drawings.
Generator projects need a load analysis that decides the size, a transfer switch arrangement that separates emergency from optional loads where both exist, and a site location that meets setbacks, exhaust and noise rules. We design all of it and prepare the permit drawings in five to ten business days.

Frequently asked questions
What is the difference between emergency and optional standby power?
Emergency power serves life-safety loads such as egress lighting and fire alarm and must meet NEC Article 700 and NFPA 110. Optional standby power under Article 702 serves loads the owner chooses, such as refrigeration or a kitchen. The design and the transfer equipment differ, and we separate them on the drawings.
Do you coordinate the gas supply for a natural gas generator?
Yes. The generator's gas input goes into the gas riser and the utility load summary, and we check the pressure the generator needs against what the service provides.
Have a project in design or permitting?
Send us the drawings you have, even if they are early. We reply within one business day with scope, fee and schedule.
